Every little helps....the weekly Lizzy
No I'm not Tesco .....just earning a few extra pennies. It's tough out there folks
These are tough financial times for everyone. Boy does it cost a lot to just exist these days.
I’m a single mum which brings certain erm financial challenges and a bit bored of stressed about money all the time. So instead of just stressing, I’m going to try and just earn some extra pennies. No one warns you that the shoes teenagers want cost a billion pounds - especially annoying when their feet keep growing. (not much one can do about that ).
As well as my full-time job at the Times, I’m planning to use this platform amongst others for some other projects and here’s the awkward bit….. I’d love it if you could subscribe to help allow me to do these projects. I’ve set the amount very low - just £4 a month. I would have set it even lower than that but substack doesn’t let you! I am aware everyone asks for subscriptions and for money and not many people I know are exactly flush at the moment but if you are able to do a monthly subscription of £4 or £40 for the year (and do feel free to cancel at any point), you’ll get from me
A weekly newsletter and round up of the Cricketing world - arrogantly or cringeingly called the Weekly Lizzy (if anyone has a better name for it then please do shout)
A short podcast twice a month (and I mean short - the world probably doesn’t need any more podcasts).
Videos - the content of these is yet to be exactly decided but they’ll be loosely cricket based unless I’ve got a burning urge to tell you about what I bought in M and S the other day
A weekly article on the biggest topic of the week from which I am hoping some discussion will be sparked.
There will still be some free content for non-paid subscribers - I totally get that it isn’t possible for everyone to be able to pay.
The English summer (if we can call it that - where was the sun?) is almost over and the long, dark winter ahead but hopefully some ongoing cricket content here can help keep us occupied whilst we wait for the Spring to come around again.
I was told by a friend not to undervalue myself and to put some monetary value on my skills…….so I’m putting aside my fear of looking like a ruddy great grifter and giving it a go.
Thank you in advance to anyone and all of you who can.
Lizzy

Sounds a great plan. I'm sure it'll do well.
